Last night we were on a pretty insane server.  The other team had dudes ranked well into the teens, which means they've been playing non-stop since the game came out.  They were really good, even though we had 8 friends in Ventrilo.

Joining a server your friends are in can be difficult at times.  Trying to join through BC2's Friends tab was not working properly last night, so I found the server name, filtered the servers by game mode (Rush, Conquest, etc.), and once I found the server, added it to my Favorites.  Having it in Fav's meant I could refresh really quickly and hop in once someone left.

Verx had a good summary of his playing experience this morning in IRC:

"I liked the uniqueness of L4D and it is cool to play and I enjoy it sometimes, but for me it gets old fairly quick.  COD4 seemed UBER but for ME, I wasn't skilled enough to live long, so it got old quick for me.  it seems like it will have some major legs for me.  bfbc2 seems like it will be long term as fun for me as COD4  would have been if I had ever not completely sucked at it.  maybe it's easier?  or just more to my playstyle? I dunno, but it is the first huge war game that I've really ENJOYED on a mostly consistent basis.  Once in a while I think either my team or the other team REALLY sucks and it ends up feeling like COD4 to me where I just die constantly, but that has been a rarity in my experience so far."
