Forum graphic / color scheme
« on: October 09, 2009, 11:33:32 PM »
Hello everyone.

I whipped up a simplistic graphic for the website.  It is based on Operation Flashpoint.

I also changed MOST of the color scheme.  There are some icon graphics (like the X/O buttons that are green with green squares around them) that need to be changed.  Also, the bread crumbs (like where it says "TeamLAN > General Category > General Discussion") is still green, and I can't figure out why.  The icons I know how to change though.

We need some feedback on the look of the site so we can continue to tweak it, but I figured I'd make a quick pass at it.

Feel free to critique the positives/negatives of it.

I think the current theme flows nicely.  Don't see any issues, or show stoppers.  I don't care for the black background.  It works but I prefer light ones I guess.

We've never had a light background on our pages that I can recall...

But as always, consensus wins.  If people have a color scheme example they can point me to, I can try to re-work the colors to match.

I'd say avoid a non-scrolling background. Even on fast PCs it causing scrolling of pages to not be terribly smooth and kind of "stuttery".

The green breadcrumbs don't really bother me.  In fact, I sorta like it because I use those quite often and they're easy to find.

I understand TL has always had a darker background, but I'm with Syn on the black background.  My eyes go wonky when switching between this and Gmail :)

Can you insert new emoticons?  I could clean up the current ones (get rid of the white pixels)

You can always change your Gmail theme.  :P

I'm with DIragor on this one!  :)

As far as the emoticons go, yeah, they are fixable.

i like the colors where can I put suggestions? I would like a quick reply function to messages so I don't have to click to a seperate page to type replys, its good for short ones.
